About Carol Schlorff

Carol has always felt like an outsider. She was born in North Africa to American parents and grew up in France. At age 15, her family abruptly moved to the Philadelphia area due to her mother’s deteriorating health. Her transition to American life while attending a new high school didn’t go smoothly.

After graduating from Penn State, Carol joined the Army in search of adventure. She was stationed in exotic—for her—locations like California, Arizona, and Texas.

Since then, Carol has been living in Cracow, Poland, where she spent many years organizing English language camps for teenagers. She’s an English teacher and blogger.

Carol enjoys taking care of her cat, Tabasco, visiting new places, watching a good murder mystery, and rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles—whether they win the Super Bowl or not.
